Injury Attorney in Florence, KY

“Competition’s in my DNA.”

Angela Greene was born to be an attorney. She has a natural talent for language and debate, combined with a powerful competitive drive that fuels her pursuit of the next big win. Angela knew at the age of 10 what she wanted to do with her life.

She grew up as an athlete and attributes her fiery, competitive spirit to her days playing basketball for a female basketball league in her hometown shortly after Title IX. When it came to college ball, her high self-expectations and “Go big or go home” motto made Division I the only option she would consider. Angela aspired to walk on with the University of Kentucky basketball team and relished the time she spent training at that level.

Soon afterward, law school beckoned and Angela answered the call. “It was time to put the toys away and become a big girl,” she says. It’s not often that a person will tell you that law school was one of the most enjoyable experiences of her life, but that’s what Angela will say if you ask her.

Angela completed a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree, with distinction, from UK law. She was invited to be a member of the UK Law Journal and was a candidate for the prestigious Order of the Coif, an honor society for law graduates.

Her first job out of school landed her in the corporate arena working for a large law firm. Drafting franchise agreements and participating in large-scale mergers and acquisitions didn’t quite quench her thirst for competition. In 1995, she started her own practice and signed her first client—a case that would define her career, create some law, and, more importantly, improve a shattered life.

Her client's case was initially refused by larger firms because of its complexity and because it challenged a major corporate employer in the area, but Angela was undaunted. She believed in her client and invested her entire life savings into the case.

Angela knew the leap of faith her client was taking by hiring her, a single attorney with no trial experience.

After two years, the case came to trial—the first of Angela’s career—and the morning of the trial, she and her client turned down a six-figure settlement offer. They were determined to be heard.

The case won the largest plaintiff verdict in that county at that time.

It went on to an appeals court and was affirmed. After four years and the final decision from the appeals court, the clients received nearly a million dollars, including interest for the delay.

While the case evolved, insurance companies took notice of Angela’s unyielding, burgeoning talent, and she began leveraging her skills for the other side of the bar. In the last 20 years, she has been a force to be reckoned with in courtrooms in Ohio and Kentucky, racking up awards and accolades.

Among her favorites are:

  • Becoming the first female attorney (KY) with less than 10 years experience to obtain a Martindale-Hubbell® AV® Rating, the highest rating one can receive from the legal consultant
  • Becoming the first female attorney to try a civil case before a jury in Adams County, Ohio—and her client prevailed in that case, too
  • Holding the record for the top verdict by a female trial attorney in Lawrence County, Ohio

Despite its challenges, those early cases whetted Angela’s appetite for taking on the toughest cases and winning. To this day, her clients don't settle for unfair or low-ball offers—and, they do not regret it.

Recently, clients' needs have shifted Angela’s focus back to the plaintiff's side of the bar. Her record of success speaks for itself, and she is ready to fight for people from all walks of life in their search for justice.

Not everyone can try a case. Call it a talent, an affinity, a calling, or a gift—Angela’s got it.

Why hire her? Because she’s not just your average attorney; she’s a champion. Competition's in her DNA.
